HP Inc. HPQ is taking various measures to leverage its printing experience to help businesses and individuals move easily into the coronavirus-led living era. The company recently announced a series of free online materials – Print, Play & Learn – to support distance learning and student engagement. The resource platform, developed in collaboration with Education.com, TIME for Kids, Canva and KiwiCo, is organized on a weekly basis with different content, worksheets, coloring pages, puzzles and other learning printables for parents with children of aged between 2 and 12 years. Due to the work situation induced by the pandemic from home and home education, a common concern of parents around the world is that the education of their children will be affected. With its new resource platform, HP aims to solve this problem. For Gallup, 42% of respondents are concerned about the negative impact of staying at home, on a child's education, leading parents to seek "educational continuity plans" for their children at home, causing a 71% increase in the HP Smart app daily downloads. Furthermore, according to a study conducted on 1000 parents by HP, 62% of respondents prefer to maintain a home printer to improve the learning experience and 53% believe that a home printer can better entertain their children.

Efforts to Boost Printing Business Specifically, HP has recently seen a drop in sales in the printing industry. In the first quarter of 2020, HP Printing's revenue (32% of net revenue) decreased 6.6% year-on-year to $ 4.72 billion, which is prompting the company to make greater efforts to increase the segment of the printing. The new printing resource platform will not only help alleviate the challenges of remote learning, but will also allow the company to cash in on this opportunity offered by the global home situation. In addition, HP launched several digital printers and printing solutions last month to accelerate the transition from analog to digital printing. The HP Indigo digital labels and packs portfolio was created specifically to be demonstrated in drupa 2020, which will take place from 16 to 26 June. Other HP efforts to help combat CoronavirusHP is currently focused on providing 3D printed components for face masks, face shields, mask regulators, nasal swabs, hands-free door openers and respirator parts. In particular, the company is also collaborating with its partners to create design files for easily assembled parts and make them available online for 3D printer users. In addition, the company urged 3D designers to come up with new applications and ideas to improve the protection of healthcare professionals from coronavirus. In addition, HP plans to start production of hospital-grade field fans and FFP3 masks soon.
