NEW YORK, May 18, 2020 / PRNewswire / – Today, The Guardian Life Insurance Company of America® (Guardian Life) has unveiled a new feature of its life insurance at Guardian Level, an incorporated charity pilot1. The term insurance product offers tier prices for the duration of the policy which helps create protection for families and the ability to create a charitable bequest. Nearly two thirds of Americans have donated to charity in the past year2. However, being able to bequeath a donation to a charity is often perceived as being reserved for the wealthy. The Guardian Life term with the built-in Benefit allows those with a charity mindset to support their choice charity in the event of death. Lifetime offers a tax-free payment for beneficiaries, while the charity feature provides a donation, 1% of the nominal policy amount (subject to a maximum charity donation of $ 100,000), to the owner of the policy at no additional cost. There are three methods that are commonly suggested for charitable donation through insurance: appoint the charity as a beneficiary, transfer dividends to a charitable organization or donate an existing policy to a charitable organization. . Guardian Life's fixed-term life insurance introduces a new option: use the integrated charity feature to provide a charitable contribution while providing a payment to beneficiaries. Any charity chosen by the owner must be a 501 (c) (3) qualified charity. "The level at guardian level offers a unique opportunity that resonates with today's customer attentive to charities," said Andy Gordon, Head of Life Insurance, Annuities and Underwriting Solutions for Guardian Life. "Policyholders will have the opportunity to give their choice to charity without taking anything away from their beneficiaries." The Guardian level level also offers the ability and flexibility to convert to permanent protection. It is fully convertible into full life insurance. Additional optional benefits include the disability of the premium3 pilot, terminally ill pilot and an extended conversion pilot, which gives the policyholder flexibility on when to convert to a full-life policy.
